Michelle Obama to Answer Questions through Social Media Site POPSUGAR
By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer
When it comes to social media, it seems as if the first family has got it down pat.
President Barack Obama has always seemingly had a good feel for how to use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter (News - Alert) to get his message out quickly and directly to his followers.
First Lady Michelle Obama isn’t lagging far behind, and has begun using POPSUGAR for a special series that allows her fans and other women across the country to ask her questions.
POPSUGAR is one of the top companies in the world dealing with online media that engages women particularly between the ages of 18 and 40.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the First Lady and truly honored to be selected by such a profound and extraordinary woman," said Lisa Sugar, cofounder and editor in chief at POPSUGAR. "Our audience is in for a treat as POPSUGAR will be the place where American women will be able to directly engage with Mrs. Obama around various categories and have their questions answered directly by the First Lady herself!"

The program began on September 18 and will run through October 12, allowing members of POPSUGAR to submit questions to the First Lady focused on the election and specific women’s issues that might be directly or indirectly affected by the outcome of the election.
The website features video and photos, and a place where users can submit their questions. There will also be a heavy tie in all through the program to other social networking sites like Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter, so more women can be made aware of this special deal.
