BRIEF: Frion appears to be the winner in Chippewa County clerk race

CHIPPEWA FALLS -- It appears incumbent Chippewa County Clerk Sandi Frion has won today's Democratic primary.
With 22 of 40 precincts reporting, Frion was leading challenger Mark Johnson, 1,270 to 270.
Frion, appointed to the position last spring, will remain the clerk unless she is defeated in by a write-in candidate during the November election.
